Equine Assisted Learning (EAL)

Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) is an experiential educational approach that utilizes horses to facilitate personal growth, life skills development, and team-building. Conducted by trained professionals, EAL programs focus on fostering skills such as communication, self-awareness, work ethic, and confidence through ground-based activities with horses. EAL emphasizes non-verbal communication, teamwork, and personal insight. At STARS, we offer EAL sessions for organizations, designed to enhance teamwork and foster collaboration within groups. These activities aim to promote skills that are valuable in both personal and professional settings, helping individuals and teams develop more effective interpersonal skills and strengthen their overall performance.

If you have a group you would like to have participate in EAL please call the Riding Center 712-239-5042.

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is a client-led process where a licensed Mental Health Professional and a qualified Equine Specialist collaborate with horses to address psychotherapy goals set by the client and therapist. Horses have a unique ability to mirror human behavior, responding only to what is presented to them in the moment. They do not judge based on appearance, such as hair color or clothing. This unbiased approach allows horses to reflect areas that may need attention, providing valuable insights without the need for traditional office-based conversation.
EAP offers a truly unique approach to counseling. Instead of sitting in an office, the arena becomes the office, the horse becomes your teacher, and the facilitators guide the process. At STARS, we facilitate EAP using ground-based activities that allow the client and horse to interact in a meaningful way.

Please call the Riding Center 712-239-5042 to find out more information on EAP.
